Indian Creek house sells for $6 million

Hot Property: South Florida spotlights selected luxury home sales in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.A home at 34 Indian Creek Dr. off Miami Beach has sold for $6 million. At 3,684 square feet, that is $1,629 per square foot. The house, built in 1965, is Old Florida style and has three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and two half baths. Features include fireplace, two-car garage, heated pool and floor-to-ceiling glass doors.

Indian Creek is a private island with 33 homes that surround a golf course. The property sold mostly for its land value. The home sits on more than two acres, with 221 feet of waterfront. It has ocean access and a new deep-water dock.

Taxes for 2008 were $54,934 and reflect no homestead exemption. The new owners, DFASS chief executive officer Bernard Klepach and wife Juliette, purchased the home from the Anne McDougal Living Trust. When sold it was on the market for $8.9 million. It had been listed as high as $11.9 million in February 2008. The listing and selling agents were Jill Eber and Jill Hertzberg.
